Alex Lagomarsino, CEO& partner of MediaBiz US Corp. www.mediabiz.com.ar, an entertainment industry business agent, representing writers, directors and producers in Latin America based in Los Angeles, California to promote businesses between the US market and Latino America and Spain. Alex has participated in many agreements with the main corporation in the region as Televisa, Disney, Sony, RCN, Amazon, Azteca, TVN, Chanel 13, Discovery, Netflix, Caracol, ABC Studios, HBO, Turner, A&E, Hemisphere, Fox Studios.
MediaBiz has generated agreements for more than 215 million dollars doing business with many countries like USA, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, Brazil, Russia, Spain, Ecuador, Italy, and Peru.
Alex began his career in Argentina in 1991 working as sales executive for Artear Argentina, subsidiary of the multimedia giant Grupo Clarín. In 1993, as Project Leader he launched “Todo Noticias” a 24 hours national news channel. In 1995, he was the Project Leader behind the launch of ‘Volver”, a movie and classic series TV network. In 1996, he brought Nickelodeon network into the Southern Cone Argentina and neighbors countries, being today one of the leading networks in he region. In early 1996 was promoted as Corporate Manager in Grupo Clarín, and as manager of Grupo Clarín, and Disney and Telefonica Media he acquired 90% of Patagonik Films Group, the main feature film production company in Latino America, producing more than 12 movies in Argentina; In 1997 he participated in the acquisition of Pol-ka Producciones, and was assigned as board member for Pol-ka Producciones.
As a senior executive he occupied a seat on the board for Grupo Clarín for more than 5 years, until 2001.
In 2001, he left his position as Corporate Manager in Grupo Clarín and started doing business in Europe and Latino America until 2006. In 2007 he founded MediaBiz in Argentina, to serve as a business agent in the entertainment industry. Through MediaBiz, he spearheaded the joint venture between Pol-ka Producciones and Buena Vista Internacional- Disney Co.- to produce the local adaptation of “Desperate Housewives” for Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, and US Hispanic, which spanned for over 120 episodes. During 2008, MediaBiz expanded, by signing an agreement with Prodigo, one on the most important advertising agencies in Brazil, to produce Brazilian content. In 2009, MediaBiz and Prodigo produced the series “fdp” for HBO Latino. In 2010, MediaBiz observed the growth of the Colombian market and big business opportunities in the “North Cone” and signed an agreement with Cristina Palacio, a leading producer in Bogota, and brokered a deal with A&E Network to produce “Interventions Colombia”.
In 2010, in association with Jorge Nisco-famous Argentine director behind HBO’s “Epitafios”, Disney’s High School Musical and Violetta as well as many other greats successes - created Quark Contenidos dedicated to develop original series. In 2013 MediaBiz was the first Argentinean Company to reach an agreement with an US Studio. ABC Studios acquired the format’s right of the programs “Killer Woman” and with ABC channel and Latin We Production produced 8 episodes of the series “Killer Woman” being Sofia Vergara the execute producer of the series, a 35 million dollar investment. In 2013 MediaBiz started representing scripts writers, and later director. Today MediaBiz represents more than 20 talents from Argentina, Colombia and Chile. MediaBiz closed many agreements with the Studios and producers and also 4 book “El Séptimo Bastón de Dios”, “Argentum” and “Los Motivos del Lobo” with Editorial Planeta and “La Forense” with Editorial Random House.
MediaBiz also represent producer. Today Alex Lagomarsino and his team are working with Mixer Films Brazil, Nippur Media and 5&6 Productiones, and collaborate as a consultant to other know companies into the region.
With the idea to share the knowledge of professional to the new generations, Alex stated ClaseSiete.com an education platform, investing money to produce audiovisual content and editing books to building a virtual library.
Since 2016 he is a board member of Conecta Ficción an International convention based, in Spain, where participate the main leader of the industry to promote the co-productions between America and Europe.
